KUDUS

Kudus, is a name of a city in Central Java, Indonesia between Demak and Pati. This city area is located near Muria Mount and inhabited by about  821 thousand people. It can be reach about two hours from Semarang. In the center of the town there is a large alun alun that called Alun – Alun Simpang Tujuh Kudus. The administration consists of 9 subdistricts of town, that is Kota, Jekulo, Bae, Mejobo, Dawe, Gebog, Jetak, Undaan, and Kaliwungu.

Kudus is known as Kretek City because of its producing clove cigarettes and because of many cigarette factories stood in Kudus such as Djarum, Sukun, Nojorono, Jambu Bol and many small cigarette factories. Cigarette in Kudus is like for domestic and international consumption that is an important local industry for the city and also absorb a lot of labor. Kudus society especially in the area around the mosque is a merchant community of students who have strong character. Beside became a merchant and santri, they also work at cigarette factories. Most residence of Kudus are Javanese although there is an Indonesian Chinese, or  Arab etnic.

Kudus has a lot of tourism site that worth to be explore. There is a religious and cultural tourism such as Menara Kudus Mosque which was built in the 16th century. This building has a blend of javanese, islam, and hinduism architecture. Kudus also has a Tomb of Sunan Kudus who is one of Walisanga. Wali sanga is the spreaders of islam in the land of Java. And then there is a Tomb of Sunan Muria located in Dawe, that also one of wali sanga. Kudus also has natural attraction like Kajar Campgrounds, Pesanggrahan, Air Tiga Rasa, Argojembangan Peak, Argowiloso Peak, Songolikur Peak and the Monthel Waterfall. These place are good for you to relax. Beside that, Kudus also has another tourism site like the Patiayam Museum Site, Kretek Museum, and Jenang Museum.

There is a lot of culinary food that showing his trademark respectively. Soto Ayam Pak Denuh is a delicious soto from Kudus that use santan. Besides Soto Kudus, there is a Garang Asem Sari Rasa located on the Agilkusumadya road which became a favourite of the visitors. Kudus also has a delicious snack like dodol called Jenang. Jenang is one of the typical souvenirs from Kudus that spread covered all provinces in Indonesia to overseas, such as Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and some other countries.

Kudus is an interesting, amazing and beautiful city where i live so comfortably. I love my hometown so much.
